King George V Urban Sports
Newham Council are refurbishing the lighting and tarmac in King George V Park into a new and exciting area for Urban Sports starting with elements and obstacles for wheeled sports provision including skating and skateboarding.

Following public consultation and agreement on the final design, construction works commenced in April 2026.
Work began with upgrades to the site’s floodlighting, starting on 20 April. This was followed by resurfacing works, which took place throughout May and have now been completed.
From 1 June, specialist contractor BetongPark has been on site installing the wheeled sports features in line with the agreed design.
These works are currently progressing well, and we anticipate completion by mid-June 2026.
