Please see below details of the letter sent to eligible voters in the Canning Town Regeneration area:

Dear... You have received this letter as your address is within the boundary of the Canning Town Estate Regeneration Area. Residents will soon be asked to vote on the proposals to regenerate the estate. The London Borough of Newham has asked Civica Election Services to independently run the voter verification and ballot process. Below, you will find a list of all those living at this address who records show are eligible to vote:

The Greater London Authority (GLA) and the Mayor of London have set the rules of who is eligible to vote. Residents on the estate aged 16 or above are eligible to vote, provided they meet one or more of the following eligibility criteria set out in the GLA guidelines: • Social tenants (including those with secure, assured, flexible or introductory tenancies) named as a tenant on a tenancy agreement dated on or before the date the landlord offer is published. • Resident leaseholders or freeholders who have been living in their properties as their only principal home for at least one year prior to the date the landlord offer is published and are named on the lease or freehold title for their property. • Any resident whose principal home is on the estate and who has been on the council housing register for at least one year.
