Sustainable Transport Strategy

Take part in our surveys

November 16, 2022 - January 8, 2023

The London Borough of Newham (LBN) wishes to develop a borough-wide Sustainable Transport Strategy to inform the refresh of their Local Plan, as well as to guide the nature of future delivery of sustainable transport schemes by the Council. We have commissioned SYSTRA, an independent consultancy, to develop this strategy in collaboration with the Council.

This survey is an opportunity for you to tell us what you think and ensure your voice is heard as we take a closer look at each of the vital transport related issues that will inform our Strategy.

The survey below is intended for anyone who is a Newham resident, or who works or travels in the borough. If you represent a business or employer in LB Newham, then you can complete our separate set of business-specific questions, which can be accessed here. If your connection to LB Newham stretches across all these categories, you are very welcome to complete both surveys.

The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and as a ‘thank you’ you can choose to enter a prize draw for one of three prizes of £100 shopping vouchers. The survey will be available to complete until 8th January 2023.

How the data collected will be handled

The findings will be used by SYSTRA and LB Newham to aid the initial development of the borough-wide Sustainable Transport Strategy. All the information you provide will be confidential and reported anonymously. LB Newham will not be able to trace any answers or comments to specific people, agencies or places. The results of the research may be published, but no personal identifiers will be used in reporting.

The research is being undertaken in accordance with the Market Research Society Code of Conduct and GDPR. For more information about this research, and how the data collected will be used, you can access the Privacy Notice here. You have lots of rights in relation to how we treat your personal data, including accessing any data we hold on you.

If you have any further questions regarding the Sustainable Transport Strategy generally, there can be sent to LB Newham directly at james.scantlebury@newham.gov.uk. If you have any queries on how to complete the survey, these can be sent to SYSTRA via bgoodsell@systra.com.
