What happens if the Council is not able to negotiate the purchase of the homes planned to be demolished?

In some cases it may not be possible to be reached for a voluntary agreement to acquire all property interests in the required timeframe or at a reasonable cost. The Council may therefore make a compulsory purchase order via the courts in parallel with negotiations. This is to ensure the regeneration timetable can be met and that we can continue to deliver much needed new homes.

What should I do if I want to sell my house to the Council now?

The Council is currently buying back homes in the Phase One area. If you decide that you would like to sell your home to the Council, please get in touch with the Regeneration Team and they will arrange a meeting with the relevant council officers.
