Have your say

A team of architects and consultants are currently developing a set of proposals to redevelop the site to provide around 20 genuinely affordable and spacious homes (most of which will be family homes). The neighbouring green space will be improved for the benefit of the whole community.

The current site is owned by the Council, with the east side of the site being used as an unofficial car park.

The Council will not be providing off-street parking; however, initial surveys have shown there is adequate parking on streets in the local vicinity.

These proposals are at an early stage but will follow these principles and outcomes:

Quality

To be in keeping with the area, with the buildings being no more than four storeys high and to a well thought out design by award winning architects BPTW.

Green space

The green space will be redesigned with improved landscaping and a new children’s play space.

Affordable

The new homes will include family-sized and wheelchair accessible homes. All homes will be at London Affordable Rent levels and there will be no homes for private sale.

Sustainability

The new homes will be built to sustainable energy standards, with a reduced carbon footprint during both construction and in use, as well as lower fuel bills.

Parking

Parking permits will be reserved for existing residents. New residents will be unable to apply for parking permits and the development will be car free, with the exception of a disabled parking bay on Morse Close, in accordance with Council policy.

Online consultation event

December 1, 2020 - January 15, 2021

The project team are hosting a series of online consultation events to hear resident views on the proposals to redevelop the site. After the consultation the project team will review all feedback received as they finalise the proposals.
