May 2024 public engagement event
Get involved and find out how your previous feedback has helped shape the emerging proposals.
Phases
May 2024 public engagement event
Queen’s Market and Hamara Ghar are without any doubt hugely important to the communities of Newham, and that is why we are committed to ensuring that we preserve, restore and modernise them both so that people always have access to healthy, affordable and fresh food and our Hamara Ghar residents have a safe, secure and better place to live. We also want to explore further opportunities across the site and surrounding area that will deliver more of what the community have told us are important to them.
We want the community to continue to share their future vision for the site to help decide what may be possible and how we can make Green Street an even better place to live, work and shop.
This engagement is part of the journey, and we will continue to work with the community to shape any future proposals.
What is this about?
The purpose of this engagement event is for the Council to present to the community the findings of the public engagement event in August 2022 and show how the communities views and comments have been taken on board as part of the emerging designs and showing the ambitions for Queen’s Market and surrounding area.
This is also an opportunity for the community to provide views and comments on these emerging designs.
Next Steps
Following these events the Council will gather together all of the comments received and present this back to the community. The findings from the study and recommendations going forward are then proposed to be presented at Cabinet.
