Jack Cornwell Centre Refurbishment Project Phase
The Council has now appointed Public Works Ltd to deliver this project.
They have been working on design proposals that incorporate the comments from users of the centre and other local residents. They have run three engagement events, one in June,one in July, and one is September to share the current designs and gather people's opinions. Please see the drawing below which outlines the design changes that will take place.
Public Works are also working with some of the gardeners at Jack Cornwell Community Centre to apply for funding for further improvements to the garden through the Newham led People Powered Places initiative.

We are pleased to share the outputs of the in-person engagement event that took place on Thursday 21 July. See the attachment "JCC Draft Design Brief PDF" which we'd love to hear your thoughts on.
We've taken those priorities you told us about at that event and written these up into the draft design brief. Looking to Section 3 specifically (Indicative Project Brief), we've tried to summarise what you have said to us and what we are looking to prioritise with the refurbishment works at the Centre.

- Drop a physical copy off at the Centre with the Community Neighbourhoods Team. Print off your own or collect one in the Centre (from Wednesday 31 August)

- Friday 2 September 10:00 to 17:00
- Tuesday 6 September 10:00 to 17:00. Do let us know though if you aren’t able to make these and we could try and be around in the evening on request.
After hearing your thoughts, we’ll then look to revise this draft design brief accordingly and use it to appoint the design team, who will progress the detailed design works. There will of course be more opportunities to engage beyond September, so please do look out for these in later in the year.
The deadline for comments is Wednesday 14 September.
