Football Foundation funding for PlayZones

The Football Foundation's PlayZone programme plans to create 330 Playzones across the UK as part of a £92m investment by the end of 2025.

London Borough of Newham have been accepted into this programme and now has the opportunity to apply for up to 75% funding for new or refurbished multi-use games areas in six locations across the borough.

Across 2023-24, the Council are engaging with local communities to:

  • Collect evidence of local need to inform the next stage of the project.
  • Identify which sports would benefit each neighbourhood.
  • Ensure any new facilities will be accessible and welcoming to everyone.
