Canning Town Masterplan

The Council is determined to tackle the housing crisis by creating more homes for those who need them. We also want to improve the look and feel of the area as well as the housing conditions for residents.

We want to work with you to transform your area in Canning Town, creating new homes and above all, a sense of place and community. Here are just some of the benefits that the regeneration will deliver for you and your neighbours:

Regeneration takes a long time, it is a complicated business and cannot be completed all in one go. The Council and the community will need to move forward one-step at a time.

The Council and community will work together on the masterplan and the detailed designs for the first phase of the redevelopment, which will be followed by a planning application by the end of 2022. If all goes according to plan, work will begin on site in 2023 with the first new homes ready in 2025-26 for residents to move into.
