Canning Town Old Library Transformation: Building Works in Progress

Works are well underway to refurbish the old library building. The existing structure has been carefully stripped out, with many of the original heritage features protected and ready for restoration. New windows, insulation, and mechanical equipment are being installed to improve the building's energy efficiency. Preparations for the installation of a new lift are also in progress. At the rear of the site, the new archive storage extension is taking shape, with most of the structure now in place. Once complete, this extension will provide state-of-the-art protection for the borough’s archive collections.
