Queen's Market
The Project
The focus will be to upgrade the existing building to help improve the look, feel and function of the Queen’s Market. These improvements are designed to improve the experience for both traders and shoppers and encourage more people to visit, spend and enjoy all that is on offer at Queen's Market.
Appointed Architects
East London-based JA Projects are leading designs for the Queen’s Market and Queen's Square. JA Projects are experts in using architecture, art and performance to work with local communities to realise projects.
Jayden Ali, JA Projects Director said:
“Through collaboratively designing alongside the various communities that already make Queen’s Market and Green Street special, we'll deliver a project that speaks to and for the population it is to serve”
Working Group Minutes
Local residents and businesses applied and were independently selected to sit on the Queen's Market and Square key stakeholder working group. The working group members shared their knowledge of the area to help the design team and Newham Council better understand the aspirations of the broad range of key stakeholders. This guided the design and delivery of the projects for the Queen's Market and Square. The meetings were held between July 2021 and November 2021. Key Stakeholder Working Group
Do you live, work or shop on Green Street or Queen’s Market?
We want to hear your thoughts and opinions so that you help us create more opportunities for residents and businesses.
You could be part of a working group that will help us guide the project. We only need a couple of hours of your time each month. As a working group member you will be advising the Council and the project design team to make sure we get it right.
Join one of our working groups to:
• learn more about the projects and meet other interested local people
• share your knowledge of the area
• tell us how the projects might affect you and your friends and neighbours.
Complete the online application by 1 June 2021. You must sign in or register to complete your application. You can also pick up an application form from the Green Street library.
