Queen's Market

The Project

The focus will be to upgrade the existing building to help improve the look, feel and function of the Queen’s Market. These improvements are designed to improve the experience for both traders and shoppers and encourage more people to visit, spend and enjoy all that is on offer at Queen's Market.

Working Group Minutes

Local residents and businesses applied and were independently selected to sit on the Queen's Market and Square key stakeholder working group. The working group members shared their knowledge of the area to help the design team and Newham Council better understand the aspirations of the broad range of key stakeholders. This guided the design and delivery of the projects for the Queen's Market and Square. The meetings were held between July 2021 and November 2021. Engagement

January 2, 2020 - February 14, 2020

In January 2020, the Council ran seven workshops where we asked local community, Queens Market Traders and Green Street businesses to share thoughts and ideas to shape the final Good Growth Fund application. View the results from these workshops here.

These workshops helped to identify the top three priorities for each of the four projects which were included in the final Good Growth Fund application. Some ideas were captured during this engagement that are not the types of projects that this funding can deliver.
