Emily Harrington11 months ago This project is designed to support primary school children at New City Primary through two important initiatives: New Shared Reading Books Research by the National Literacy Trust shows that children’s enjoyment of reading is at an all-time low. By purchasing a wide range of exciting, diverse, and age-appropriate books, we want to spark curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading. Shared reading books will benefit pupils across the school, giving them more opportunities to discover stories that reflect their lives and open doors to new worlds. New Play Equipment Play is vital for children’s development, helping them build confidence, social skills, and friendships across year groups. This project will fund new equipment such as giant Connect 4, a games wall, soft balls, skipping ropes, and parachutes. These resources will enhance playtimes, encourage teamwork, and ensure children have active, enjoyable breaks and PE lessons every day.
