Jonny Boux1 year ago We want to bring Arc in the Park in Canning Town to life every weekend with free play, sport, family and wellbeing activities for local children, young people and families.From March 2026 to February 2027, our Arc Active Weekends programme will provide:Weekend activity clubs including cycling, football, basketball, dance, roller skating, parkour, fitness and more – ensuring there’s something for every age and ability.Family activity days with games, arts and crafts, heritage celebrations and seasonal events, helping families spend quality time together and meet new people.Growing and gardening sessions in Arc’s greenhouse and outdoor beds, giving children and families hands-on experiences of nature, healthy eating and sustainability.This project is especially for families who face barriers due to cost, poverty, SEND or isolation. By removing those barriers, we will make sure all children and families can take part, feel welcome and benefit from safe, inclusive opportunities.The project will help improve health and wellbeing, build confidence and skills, and strengthen community connections. Jonny Boux3 years ago September 2024 - Project UpdateIt's been a busy year, with our woodland site benefiting from extensive landscaping and development work thanks to PPP funding. The site has been transformed, with fun and exciting outdoor learning and activities underway for many local children and young people to enjoy. The sessions and activities in the woodland are continuing throughout the Autumn, which includes our recently established outdoor learning after school club on Tuesdays and regular Saturday sessions. Please contact our Outdoor Learning Coordinator Candy Buckler (candy@theaaazone.com) if you would like to find out more.Project OverviewThe Ambition Aspire Achieve Abbey Hub Woodland project will support the development of a unique and exciting outdoor learning and adventure space located at The Glyn Hopkin Abbey Hub, our neighbourhood hub situated at 6 Gay Road, Stratford, E15 2RN. AAA has been gifted for an initial 10-year period an area of mature woodland, adjacent to the Hub by the landowners Thames Water. The project will help us to continue the transformation of the space, creating a brand-new outdoor community resource, which we will use as a facility to provide fully inclusive opportunities and activities for residents residing in areas surrounding the site. If successful, funding will be used to install a range of facilities, including an outdoor learning space, a nature-hide, orienteering course and a wide range outdoor facilities and habitats to improve the biodiversity of the site,Funding will then be used to deliver regular weekly activities during 2024, helping local children/young people and their families to learn about wildlife and its conservation within inner city Newham, whilst offering a medium to support wellbeing and provide a one-of-a kind nature themed play space for local people.

Ambition Aspire Achieve has been gifted for an initial 10-year period an area of mature woodland, adjacent to the Hub by the landowners Thames Water. The project will help us to transform the space, creating a brand-new outdoor community resource, which we will use as a facility to provide fully inclusive opportunities and activities for residents residing in areas surrounding the site. If successful, funding will be used to install a range of facilities, including an outdoor covered learning space, a nature hide, for animal observations and photography, a nature trail, wide range of bird, small mammal and bug houses and habitats, educational resources throughout the area and 3 orienteering courses at varying levels of difficulties.Funding will then be used to deliver regular weekly activities during 2023, helping local children/young people and their families to learn about wildlife and its conservation within inner city Newham, whilst offering a medium to support wellbeing and provide a one-of-a kind nature themed play space for local residents.

Jonny Boux5 years ago Project Play Wheels delivered by local charity Ambition Aspire Achieve will provide 2 mobile play vans stocked with a wide range of play equipment and teams of play workers, targeting streets, local parks and estates in Custom House and Canning Town, especially where there are no appropriate indoor venues/current opportunities for young people, offering organised play activities, support, guidance and a bridge into ongoing constructive opportunities.The project will deliver regular pop-up play sessions on Sundays during term-times and additional sessions during school holiday breaks. Each session will be delivered by 3 playworkers, who will provide fun, engaging activities and workshops, fully utilising a wide variety of exciting resources, equipment, games and play kits delivered by our mobile play vans.Addressing the ‘Youth Activities & Education’ priority, the project’s main objective is to facilitate participative play opportunities that are fun to be involved in and actively support the progression and development of local children/young people, particularly those who are vulnerable, enabling them to: Build their confidence, esteem and resilience Develop core skills and learn new skills Make new friendships Celebrate the multiculturalism of Newham Improve their physical and mental wellbeing
