Krishna Kumar1 year ago HealthFirst, led by Sai Guru London, aligns with WellNewham’s mission, “Helping everyone in Newham to live well,” by advancing health equity in Newham’s diverse, deprived community. This fully funded project tackles health inequalities through an anti-racist, anti-poverty, and intersectional approach. Free health and wellbeing services will be provided via quarterly events at our Manor Park centre and regular mobile pop-ups across Manor Park wards. Offerings include free health screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, BMI, ECG), fitness and mindfulness sessions (yoga, meditation, Reiki, Pranic Healing), workshops (stress management, Sports, Taichi, gut health, sexual health, diabetes awareness), and expert talks on nutrition, cardiac health, and mental wellbeing. Community initiatives, like a Kids’ Corner with games and face painting, ensure inclusivity. Community consultations via questionnaires confirm strong local support. The project empowers residents to make informed health choices, reduces lifestyle-related risks, and fosters community bonds, enhancing physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
