Recycle your Gum

annette fry•5 years ago Much of our pavement is polluted and defaced with chewing gum, creating dark, unhealthy patches on the ground. It is a daily habit for many people.? 80–90% of chewing gum is not disposed of properly and it’s the second most common form of litter after cigarette butts. It is made from polymers, synthetic plastics that do not biodegrade. Removing it from the pavement is difficult and costly and It can also make its way into the food chain. It is unsightly and unhealthy.  I propose a series of gum recycling bins outside the stations, main bus stops, and other sites where gum is regularly dropped.
