Description
Building a collaboration between New Way Row and Shipman Youth Zone, we plan to empower young people in the Canning Town South area to co-design, impliment and run activity spaces.
The following is a summary of the proposals made by young people that we spoke to:
* Pop-up playground storage unit - similar to this Dalston project:

* Food give-away
* Clothes give-away
* Hub for homeless support/outreach - give-away spot for tents, sleeping bags as well as signposting etc.
* Storage for 'sumo kit' and other items from the Trinity Centre (subject to clarification on their intended future).
* Tuck-shop - potentially not viable but could be explored.
* Climbing wall - potentially not viable due to size needed but could be explored.
Other ideas that have also been suggested:
* Bike fixing project
* Recording studio (Partnering with Threads Radio)
* Tech fixing space - Computers, Laptop, games consoles etc.
The idea would be to repair and adapt derelict garages as part of a community project, after the young people of the Shipman Youth Club, currently based at the Trinity Centre, have worked with architects to co-design a feasible community project that potentially reflects the nature of the R-Urban space in Poplar, Tower Hamlets.
