Description
Youth Awareness, Confidence & Fitness Program
This project aims to empower young people in Canning Town through a unique combination of fitness, weightlifting, climbing, nutrition workshops, and mentoring. It will provide safe, structured, and positive activities for young residents aged 11–16 (with scope up to 21), helping them build both physical health and mental resilience.
Newham is one of the most deprived boroughs in London, with high levels of childhood obesity and limited affordable opportunities for youth. Many families cannot access activities such as climbing or structured gym sessions due to financial barriers. This project will make those opportunities accessible and inclusive, giving young people a chance to thrive regardless of background.
Participants will benefit from improved confidence, self-esteem, fitness, and life skills, while the wider community will benefit from more engaged, motivated, and healthier young people.
By investing in local youth, this project will contribute to a stronger, safer, and more connected community, making Canning Town a better place to live for all residents.
