Go to the project

Wild Green E13 is a voluntary community organisation, founded in 2019, concerned with the design, establishment, and maintenance of a community garden in the Upperton Road West Park.
The Wild Green E13 aims are as follows:
• By the community, for the community: we aim to bring local people, of all ages and backgrounds, together.
• Positive change: we aim to create a space which will foster positive change in our local area.
• Immersive wildlife experience: we aim to offer opportunities to learn and engage with nature and wildlife in our urban garden for all.
• Sustainability: because of the climate crisis, we aim to create a sustainable, low impact, urban garden.
In response to our Autumn 2020 public consultation, Wild Green E13 are seeking funding for:
1. A low-level fence to designate the area of the garden and to increase safety.
2. Hard-standing pathways, to improve access to the space for older residents and wheelchair users.
3. Timber benches, for people to pause and comfortably enjoy the space for longer.
4. A container for storage of tools and resources, enabling delivery of workshops and programmes for the community.
This project aligns with the third priority of: Parks & Greenspaces.
