Description
Our project aims to improve the mental health, wellbeing and development of children and families in our local community through inclusive day visits to educational sites, local parks and termly sports camps. These experiences are designed to enrich our school curriculum, encourage physical activity and support emotional resilience, particularly for families who face financial or social barriers to accessing such opportunities.
Children will take part in engaging, hands-on learning outside the classroom—visiting museums, nature reserves and cultural venues. These educational visits boost confidence, curiosity, cultural capital and social skills while offering a break from the pressures of daily life. Being active and spending time in nature has proven benefits for reducing stress and supporting mental wellbeing.
Families will be invited to attend together, helping to strengthen relationships and create positive shared memories. These experiences promote connection and communication, which are vital for long-term emotional health.
The project also supports community development by increasing use of local resources, encouraging social inclusion, and reducing isolation. We will measure impact through feedback, a wellbeing tracking, attendance data and case studies, ensuring we capture everyone participants lived experience and voice.
With funding, we can provide life-enhancing experiences that foster healthier, happier children, stronger families and a more connected community.
