Waddington Street Play Area Redevelopment

From "Forest Gate & Maryland Community Assemblies 2022"

Go to the project

We, the community of Maryland are seeking funds to redevelop the one and only, park that has remained closed for the last 20+ years. This park is one of few that was dedicated to families with children aged 0 - 8 yeadrs old. We would now like to see this park brought back to purpose - benefiting the local residents, childcare plroviders, nurseries and schools. We intend to reclaim this space and transform it into a place delivering socail inclusion of the highest degree.

We want to make sure that make this park accessible to all children no matter their ability - by introducing sensory learning and play equiptment that will appeal to everyone. As well as fun play, we want to encourage learning through fun nature activities. This will be done by including wildlife habitats, and storage facilities hosting numerous resources for independent playing, planting, growing, learning, maintaining and looking after the new space

Fund ask: £20k

Please all vote and encourage everyone you know and that they know to do the same! This space will be a place where children of all abilities can benefit. We have the power to make exceptional improvements to our community - challenging social injustices and environmental issues. Our children deserve it, and so do we. PLEASE VOTE! Thank you...

This is a great idea. I often cycle past this space and think it's such a shame it's been so neglected. With less traffic in the area it's a perfect opportunity to create better play spaces!

How sad to hear this park has been closed for so long. Let's hope you get the funds as it will directly benefit many, children and adults a like in the local area.

What a super idea, this play area should never have closed in the first place.
