Upgraded cycle lanes through Manor Park and East ham
From "Manor Park Community Assemblies 2022"
Go to the project
Dear Community Neighbourhood team,
My proposal is to suggest that there be designated or upgraded cycle lane capabilities through Manor Park and East ham, this will significantly help cyclists commuting into and through our ward as currently between manor park and east ham the typical cyclist has to battle between parked cars and the flow of traffic. My suggestion would be to invest in either a defined quiet route or resurfacing and remarking of cycle lanes.
This would encourage commuters to drive less, cycle more and generally improve the road safety of our cyclists
Thanks
Asim

Great ideas. I'd love romford road to be resurfaced and given bike lanes. I commute on it every day and the potholes are insane. It pushes me to cycle in the traffic lane which annoys drivers and puts me at risk. I was smashed by an opening car door a few weeks ago and I'm always worried I'll loose a wheel in a hole. Any projects on here, specifically for romford Road, I can comment on?

@Howard Watson the parked car door smash is precisely what I want to stop happening , happened a few weeks back for myself, it's far too dangerous at times

We definitely need the Council to invest in safe segregated cycle lanes and active travel routes throughout the area. Licks of blue paint that disappear alarmingly at the narrowest, most hazardous parts of the road, and located on gutters strewn with gaping potholes, do not constitute cycle lanes.
