Description

Unlocking Health and Wellbeing to Transform Lives in Plaistow

Mental health affects 1 in 4 people and disproportionately affects ethnic minorities, with men suffering the most. Join us on a journey to create a happier, healthier Plaistow, right in the heart of Newham, one of London's most diverse yet deprived areas. At Christ Church Newham, our mission is clear: we're championing wellbeing for all ages and backgrounds, addressing mental health disparities, and fostering a sense of belonging. Our dynamic project is designed to uplift lives, break mental health stigmas, and strengthen our vibrant community.

Five Work Packages for Transformation

Mental Health Outreach: We're bridging gaps in awareness with events tailored to our diverse community. By dispelling myths and promoting proactive mental health care, we'll create a safe space for open dialogue.

Men's Brunch and Talk Sessions: Men's Mental Health Matters! These gatherings, run by qualified therapists, will provide peer support and encourage men to talk about their mental health journeys.

Youth mental health prevention through fun-filled summer activities will empower them to build life skills, mental health awareness, and physical well-being.

Children's Music Therapy: Professionally-led monthly music therapy sessions using guitar, singing, and drums improve mental health. A harmonious way to relax and grow.

Tea & Crafts Club for the Elderly: Combat loneliness with our quarterly tea club events. Socialise, do arts and crafts, or simply come to chat—we're creating lasting connections.

Why We Need Your Support: A Fairer, Healthier Community Awaits

Our project aligns with Plaistow's priorities: improved health and wellbeing, reduced inequalities, and combating loneliness. COVID-19 has magnified these needs, making our mission urgent.

Your Support, Our Transformation: Be a Part of Our Journey

We're not just a project; we're a community of changemakers. By supporting us, you're supporting a brighter, healthier Plaistow. Together, we'll unlock well-being, create opportunities, and make lives better.
