Description

Transformation Through Creation

Is an innovative sewing project run by DabreleXpress, carefully designed for adults of all ages and ability; with a focus on improving personal and community development, mindfulness, accountability, health and wellbeing, sustainability, and productivity, with job opportunities. The project is inclusive of adults of all ages, race and ability in Newham Borough. It will run over a 10 week period, 15 spaces (5 sessions per year); climaxing with a tea party, where they will be able to showcase their handcrafted creations which would be advertises.

The tea parties would be the new modern sophisticated job fair, where participants would mix and mingle with other community members, sharing their productivity of engaging with the sewing project and marketing their handcrafted creations. The event would help the community to learn about the opportunities to access learning, especially for those who were reluctant in the beginning or who have been locked away and separated due to many different challenges.

The gathering together of the community promises to eliminate loneliness, isolation and bitterness, and in turn, improve health and wellbeing. This will improve and increase community involvement and foster a sense of belonging and togetherness in the community. While celebrating their achievements, the participants would be connecting with local families, other creative professionals, local business personnel’s who may become potential buyers or employers. The participants, along with the wider community would begin to feel a sense of security, knowing that they are all now working together for the greater good of their local environment.

Through this sewing project/tea parties, Dabrele Xpress aims to rejuvenate Newham Community, one stitch at a time. Transformation Newham Through Creation.

This is a highly inspiring and inclusive project that combines creativity, personal development, and community building in a unique way. By using sewing as a tool for mindfulness, skill development, and social connection, it addresses isolation while opening pathways to employment and entrepreneurship. The tea party showcase is a brilliant idea to celebrate achievements, foster networking, and strengthen community bonds—truly transforming Newham one stitch at a time.
