This project will aim to educate and spread awareness to our community on how to recycle wasted materials through art& craft activities.
We will create a final art piece to be exhibited at the local library made from our litter picking in the parks and green areas.
The participants will give a new life to waste materials from crisp bags to plastic bottles expressing their talents and imagination.
This project will be open to everyone: children, adults, youth elderly families with children with learn difficulties, disable, bringing the community together.
The classes will be held in the Local Parks when weather permits and in hired community centres.
Research has shown that people tend to litter more when there is litter already there, that the presence of litter almost gives people permission to drop more litter therefore we need to make sure that we keep our parks, green spaces free of litter so that there is no incentive for people to drop litter.
The presence of litter indicates also that no one cares about the area and more worryingly, that people don’t care about each other hence why criminals think that they will have an easier life if they focus their efforts on that area.
Based on the fact that litter attracts crime to an area, we have now another good reason for keeping our area free of litter so we can feel a bit safer.
Litter problem would not get solved unless we will all get involved and play our part.
Everyone will have the opportunity to take part in this unique challenge: from parents, schools , recyling teams to Community centres. It is important that we begin to take responsibility for our litter action in order to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our and the future generations.
Even better if we can re use that litter to create an unique art piece all together in a positive relax enviroment.
