The Youth Cafe - £12,496

The youth café will be a safe and welcoming space dedicated for young people at the Garden Community Café Monday to Friday after school, facilitated by two qualified youth workers and run in partnership with Ascension Church, Royal Docks Academy and Shipman Youth Centre who have all backed the project. Ascension Church have agreed to match fund the project by providing one of the youth workers. The café closes to the public at 3pm, from when the space will be open solely to young people, particularly vulnerable young people referred by Royal Docks Academy. The project will provide a hot evening meal for free for young people who may not receive this at home or do not have a safe space to be straight from school. The young people will have the opportunity to choose what they want to use the space for, enabling them to take ownership of the space. As an organisation we have experience in running a range of youth activities including song writing, music and performance classes, live gig nights, wellbeing activities, art and craft, homework support, mentoring, homework support, cooking classes, games clubs, sports activities, employability support and trips.
