Healing cafe videoOur project, the Healing Cafe, takes place at St John’s Church Stratford every Tuesday except after bank holidays. This project seeks to contribute to better health and well being within the community through offering friendship and fellowship. We aim to reach the lost, the lonely, the bereaved, the troubled mind and the vulnerable. Everyone is welcomed and all are made to feel loved. We offer free light refreshments, a non-judgemental listening ear from trained volunteers , and private prayer should persons request.

In addition, we offer brief chair-based exercises, celebrate birthdays, provide hot meals fortnightly and a Christmas dinner. We provide these in a friendly environment and also music with a message of hope to lift the hearts of those who are low in spirit.

We want to expand on this service by providing a hot meal weekly, group activities such as yearly coach trips to the seaside, a visit to the Pantomime and a wider range of activities for the varied participants of our annual outdoor special in the Church yard. This funding would facilitate our existing outreach to the community and potentially increase it for at least another year.

Jacqui Thurlow I have the privilege to have used the healing cafe It has really helped with my mental health & the support that you get from all the people at the Healinf Cafe being if it is a volunteer worker or another member in need. It is a good way to take part in being a fellowship & learning scriptures whilst also healing through whatever illness you need support with. The cafe also does prayers which also gives me optimism for the future. Any funding will help the Healing Cafe expand & reach & support more people. It really is a safe space for all & an essential part of St Johns & for the community in Strarford

This is such an amazing initiative. The location is perfect. A much needed space for people in need who are in or passing through Stratford. The Cafe as already been able to provide Support - fellowship- prayer - and a listening ear. The funding will enable them to provide more and extend what they are already doing for communities in Stratford.

The healing cafe has served many people in the community over the years. It has been a hub where elderly people, and those that are lonely meet to socialise, discuss, fellowship together, and share a meal, also they go on social trips at certain times of the year. The healing cafe has been supporting their well-being and catering for the needs of people in this community. The grant will help to extend the love and support to many others that need such social interactions within Stratford community as a whole.

The Healing Cafe deserves a grant as it needs room for an expansion as it is widely used by the community. It is a brilliant project which does amazing work. The Healing Cafe is a great way to socialise and share bible readings.

The Healing Cafe at St John's Church Stratford is a fantastic project, I do hope it gets the addittional funding needed to continue to facilitate to the community. It is a great service which uplifts people spiritually, physically and lastly emotionally and much more. Which is vitally important during these difficult times for everyone.
