Description
Park Village Oasis is a brand new, community space in Stratford.
Painstakingly cleared by the community, the land revealed itself to be approx. 50MX20M of pure concrete. Yet we have had circa 1,200 aggregate attendees at 6 events since January, with literally nothing but a gazebo for cover and the pure passion of the community to make something of this beloved space!
We desperately need shelter please. We are looking to purchase and install a log cabin with double glazed windows and doors and potential for toilet facilities for the community. This would provide respite from the elements, provide secure storage and, therefore, allow The Oasis to stay open for public access.
There is very little free facility for our community or indeed any one in Newham, to use for meetings, workshops, events, cafe, socialising, exercise etc. The log cabin would provide a flexible space to service the community and to tackle our priorities such as mental health and community well-being, education, personal and neighbourhood safety and changing our behaviours to support our environment etc..
