Description
Our project, Stitch Together, is a community-based sewing initiative designed to bring people together through the shared experience of learning a new skill. The primary goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive space where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can gather to learn sewing, share ideas, and build meaningful connections.
We aim to offer free sewing workshops led by experienced professionals, providing access to sewing machines, materials, and guidance that may otherwise be unavailable to some members of the community due to cost or lack of access. By removing these barriers, we empower participants to develop practical skills that can support creative expression, mental well-being, and even potential income opportunities.
This project will particularly benefit individuals who may feel socially isolated, such as the elderly, newcomers to the area, or those experiencing economic hardship. Sewing together encourages conversation, collaboration, and a sense of belonging—fostering a stronger, more connected community.
We are applying for funding to help cover the cost of sewing machines, fabrics, tools, and space rental, as well as to support outreach efforts to ensure the program is inclusive and widely accessible. Your support will directly impact the lives of participants by offering them not just a new skill, but a community to grow with.
