Description
PSBL aim to work with local residents and the larger community to combat fear and anxiety and increase confidence in women and young girls in the hope that it will aid them with the right tools to support with their mental health and wellbeing as well as being confident enough to protect themselves in a compromised situation.
We have been working and researching through pilot initiatives the importance of such sessions. The project aims to empower individuals in our community with fundamental self-defence techniques. We have listened to feedback from our users and evolved by meeting the wider objective of one of Metropolitan Police (Safer Neighbourhood) priority ‘keeping women and young girls safe in the streets’ We have teamed up with the Community Police through our work to advise and answer any questions bought about through this project to ensure we are delivering a much more in depth, impactful sessions.
We want to serve our community ensuring they feel safe, this project fits in to at least two of the council’s priority- Health and Wellbeing and Community Safety.
