Safer, cycling friendly roads
From "East Ham Community Assemblies"
Go to the project
Having Low Traffic Neighbourhoods in East Ham Central Park to protect the environment around the park, and to encourage cycling in the area by introducing cycle ways and quiet ways. Currently it is very difficult to cycle safely to different wards in Newham as there are not enough cycle lanes which connect the different parts of the borough. For example, going from East Ham Central Park to Manor Park is a very treacherous journey! Even going from EH to Green Street is not safe!
Currently cars are given priority on Newham roads. I would like to see more LTN's and cycle lanes and education for new cyclists and drivers.

Very much agree that there is a real lack of connection around the borough for cycling - and even walking - and too much priority is given to cars.

I think this is an excellent idea. I cycle from Green St to Central Park often, and even though I go through residential roads, it is generally unsafe. LTNs and more cycling provision would definitely improve things.
