Description
Roots to Rhythm is an innovative youth-led music program designed for individuals aged 15-24, aiming to empower young people to share their musical talents and skills with their peers in the community. This initiative will facilitate workshops where participants can learn and develop their musical abilities, culminating in a showcase event that celebrates their achievements. By fostering a spirit of inclusion and collaboration, Roots to Rhythm seeks to create a vibrant community where creativity thrives and young people inspire one another.
The primary purpose of Roots to Rhythm is to provide a platform for youth to express themselves creatively through music, enhancing their confidence and leadership skills. By organising workshops led by young musicians, such as Deji, who has experience playing the drums in church and practices regularly, we aim to cultivate an environment where young people can come together to learn, share knowledge, and build connections. This peer-to-peer model not only encourages skill development but also promotes a sense of belonging and community engagement.
