Replace New City Green broken and missing play equipment - £4850

This project is to replace the broken and missing parts of the New City Green under 5s equipment.

The New City Green under 5s play equipment although not old, is very trashed, given all the use it has by many, many local children.

Small parks and pocket parks have been systematically underfunded and larger parks get all the funding, namely Plaistow Park had 2 revamps recently, West Ham Park will get over 700k next year. This is unfair as most local people cannot go that far with our toddlers at the end of a working day, and these small parks are very well used, especially by the most deprived families, with 300 visitors a day. (I can count 100 visitors at 7 pm today). These are places to really foster community cohesion, and tackle inequities, isolation and improve emotional and physical well-being for families. Newham has the largest number of children in the country, with 30% under 18s, so I would like some of the grant money to come to them. Give the Plaistow children the summers of play that they need to recover from the pandemic, as highlighted by specialists in child development. 

This project is aligned with the Newham plan, that recognises the vitality of small parks and wants Newham to be a place people want to come to live or work. Also aligns with the Covid recovery plan, with more community cohesion, and opportunities for children.

The park needs a revamp, namely: A roundabout spinning feature in the blue circle is missing; Gates to the enclosed playground are broken, as is the climbing frame.
