Ready Food for Street Homeless Persons

Food, cloth, shelter, education, and medicine are the basic needs of humans and among them, humans cannot live without food; yet, many people are devoid of these very basic necessities of life. The homeless persons do not have a permanent shelter to live in, they lack the financial capability to buy food, let alone avail themselves of the other basic needs.

One study shows the number of homeless persons in the UK has jumped from 219000 in 2019 to 274000 by the end of 2021, also cost of living crisis 2022 to still now reflecting the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis on job cuts and lower-income of people, not being able to afford food and accommodation. The children and elderly persons of the families of the low-income families are suffering more and hence, a project has been planned to distribute free food among the homeless persons. However, this requires the contribution of the people, who earn well so that they can help people in distress.

 Food Collection, Storage, and Transportation

· Food will be collected from approved halal-certified restaurants and individual donors.

· Collected food will be stored in insulated and sanitized food containers to maintain temperature and prevent contamination.

· Transportation will be carried out using dedicated vehicles, ensuring food remains safe, hygienic, and appropriately packaged during delivery.

 Food Safety and Hygiene Measures

· All volunteers handling food will follow strict hygiene protocols, including hand sanitization and wearing gloves/masks.

· Food will be checked for quality before distribution, ensuring that it is fresh, uncontaminated, and safe to eat.

· Containers and storage areas will be regularly cleaned and sanitized.

Safeguarding Volunteers and Recipients

· Volunteers will be trained in safeguarding policies and basic first aid.

· Interaction with recipients will follow safe distancing and respectful engagement protocols.

·  we will wear visual "hi-vest" (high-visibility vest) or PPE used to protect workers from various risks 

· Vulnerable individuals will be treated with care, and any concerns will be immediately reported to the project supervisor.

Identifying and Reaching Beneficiaries

· Beneficiaries will be identified through coordination with local shelters, community organizations, and outreach programs.

· Distribution points and timings will be communicated through community networks to ensure those in need are reached efficiently.
