Thank you for your comment. As part of the scheme we aim to create a stepped cycle track for the entire length of Romford Road. Phase 1 will implement a stepped cycle track between Water Lane and Radlett Close and between Woodgrange Road and Richmond Road. The next phases aim to implement stepped cycle tracks along remaining sections of Romford Road.
Protected Cycle Lanes
From "Romford Road Public Realm Improvement scheme"
Go to the project
Please add protected cycle lanes, it feels very dangerous cycling here, especially compared to Stratford where the lanes are properly protected from traffic.
Painted cycle lanes are not infrastructure! And are constantly blocked by cars. Protected cycle paths would encourage many to cycle - I beleive the old addage of "build it and they will come" applies here as it has done for many protected cycle paths in London!

prioritising safe cycle lanes is KEY to improving this whole area as the knock on effects would be fewer cars etc etc etc. 'subject to funding' is disappointing as newham has been awarded an incredible sum and therefore opportunity. it is not fair to spend this money on some parts of romford road (i.e. first phases) and then leave other areas to fester -that's not equality. ensure that the budget is properly managed to ensure equal improvements, not just to the areas that are in phase 1 and are already more improved e.g. forest gate. consider the benefits this would bring to an area like manor park - the benefits would be transformative.

When would the next phases be implemented? Looking forwards to the whole of Romford Road having a segregated cycleway

Thank you @Jaison Jeyacumar , following phase 1 statutory consultation (mid-Jan) we will start planning phase 2. This is a 5-year project subject to funding availability.
