Our HeritageWise project seeks to enhance digital skills among individuals aged 50 and above, with the overarching objective of bolstering their employability, social integration, and overall well-being. In today's digitally-driven world, proficiency in online platforms and services is pivotal for accessing resources, securing employment, and staying connected. By equipping participants with enhanced digital skills, we aim to empower them to navigate the digital landscape effectively, fostering improved communication, expanded employment opportunities, and greater engagement with community resources.
Beyond digital skills training, we go a step further by offering integration counseling sessionsin a form of psychological therapy designed to assist individuals in harmonising their various life experiences, emotions, thoughts, and identities. Particularly useful for those who have undergone significant life changes or trauma, this counselling aims to reconcile conflicting emotions, address unresolved conflicts, and reconnect with a sense of wholeness. By guiding individuals through the process of integrating their experiences, we strive to facilitate improved mental and emotional well-being, fostering a balanced and authentic sense of self.
The context of COVID-19 accentuates the importance of integration counselling. The pandemic has precipitated a multitude of changes—physical, emotional, social, and psychological—that necessitate careful processing and integration. Our project recognises this need and endeavors to provide a space for individuals to navigate and make sense of their pandemic-related experiences, helping them weave these experiences into a cohesive narrative.
