Project description
Priory park is the only park and play space for children in Green Street. There is a multi-sports area for children that has not been taken care of and is worm out.
Aim
The aim of the project is to update the ball court within Priory Park and its surroundings. Currently one side of the court is missing the basketball backboard including hoop and net, while the other side is just missing the net. There are some wear and tear in some areas and the court that would require repair and fresh lick of paint.
The court currently is only designed for Basketball, however there is an opportunity to make it be a multipurpose court perhaps putting a 5 aside football pitch within the space and a volleyball court, as there is a variety of ball games being played within the space.
Benefits
- Improving the multi sports area will make the sports area fit for purpose for young people and families.
- Increase footfall of in the park and bring communities together through programmes.
- Reduce anti- social behaviour in the park –
- Residents will feel comfortable accessing the park
