Description

Our aim is to create a new environment to support mental health wellbeing and to provide new stimulus and creative ideas and experiences for the disabled residents in Newham. Mostly our residents come from the South Asian and Black Community and have English as a second language. We also provide BSL support to our community to be inclusive of our deaf community. Our project aims to break isolation and build confidence of our residences as well as creating a safe space for the residents for their monthly meetings. Our project includes: - 2 day trips (Southend and Pantomime) - Monthly meetings (2nd and 4th week of the month) - International day of Disabled people celebration

Our group meetings will help develop new friendships and peer support for our group Newham residents, who feel socially isolated to the challenges around disabilities of their children of their own. we will empower them as role models and change their attitudes as well as local community to create around being inclusive and diverse needs for all our Newham residents.this will improve their health and wellbeing as they will feel listened to and valued, using their mother tongue is their need to have their voices been heard. We help build on their confidence and create connections.
