Our Languages, Our Strength is a community project that celebrates the many languages spoken by families in Newham. We know that when children grow up hearing and using their home languages, it strengthens their learning, confidence, and sense of identity.
This project will create easy-to-use advice for parents and carers on how to support home languages and communication in everyday life. By doing so, children will benefit from a rich linguistic diversity and stronger connections to their culture and heritage.
The advice will be shared across Tapscott Learning Trust schools, Early Years settings, and the wider Newham community, so that all families feel proud of their languages and see them as a strength, not a barrier.
Together, we can build stronger links between families, schools, and communities, while giving children the best start in life through the power of multilingualism.
