We will facilitate the setup and delivery of allotments shared by the community. The community plot with see approximately 40 people/families allocated their own growing space, with some shared beds. The community will then be supported to take over and run these spaces, creating a legacy for future generations.
With a second allotment plot, we will create a Women's Wellness allotment as a safe space to garden and grow offering sensory elements as well as flowers, fruit and vegetables.
We will run 4 inclusive sessions each week on each plot, engaging with at least 35 - 55 community members on a weekly basis.
Communal herb gardens will be established - where participants are encouraged to share and help each other. The decision making process, design, development, delivery and maintenance will all be community led.
This project will be delivered in the Beckton Allotments E6 behind ASDA.
