Description

This project will deliver a monthly community-based Diabetes Wellbeing Club to support residents in managing and preventing Type 2 diabetes through accessible, enjoyable activities. Led by a qualified yoga, dance, and nutrition coach with extensive experience in community health (and lived experience supporting family members with diabetes), sessions will combine chair-based yoga, gentle movement, nutrition workshops, and peer support.

The club will provide a safe, welcoming space for all ages and abilities, with a focus on empowering participants to make sustainable lifestyle changes. Each session will include practical exercise, healthy eating advice, and social connection, reducing isolation and improving mental wellbeing.

We aim to reach at least 80 local residents over 12 months, with 70% reporting positive lifestyle changes such as improved mobility, weight management, and confidence in managing their health. Sessions will be held in accessible community venues, with take-home resources and videos available for ongoing support.
