Description

The Manor Park 50+ Wellbeing Clubis a resident-led project designed to improve the health and wellbeing of older residents, particularly from the Asian community in Manor Park, where there is a lack of clubs and services for this age group. The club is open to all residents aged 50+, but has been shaped around the needs of Asian men and women who are often underrepresented in community activities.

Meeting once a week at Jack Cornwell Community Centre, the group provides a safe, welcoming environment for older people to meet, make friends, and take part in positive activities. With People Powered Places funding, we will deliver:

•        Yoga & Gentle Exercise Sessions – weekly sessions to support physical health, reduce stress, and improve mental wellbeing. Sessions will be tailored to older people and led by qualified facilitators.

•        Social Outings & Day Trips – affordable group outings to seaside towns, heritage sites, and cultural venues. Trips provide opportunities for members to bond, reduce isolation, and enjoy experiences they might not otherwise access alone.

This project will reduce loneliness, improve health, and provide older residents with purpose, structure, and connection.
