Description
Established in 2023, the Manor Park Men’s Group was set up to tackle loneliness and social isolation among men aged 50 and over. Based at the Jack Cornwell Community Centre (JCCC), we offer a friendly and inclusive environment where older men can connect, share stories, and feel a sense of belonging.
Looking Ahead: Our Priorities for 2025–27
To continue supporting our members, we are seeking funding to focus on two key areas that matter most to them:
Wellbeing Trips & Social Outings
We organise affordable day trips to coastal towns, museums, heritage sites, and cultural venues. These outings help reduce isolation, foster friendships, and create joyful shared experiences.
Celebrating Festivals Together
We host inclusive community events that honour a wide range of cultural and religious celebrations, including Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Vaisakhi, Holi, Easter, Navratri, Black History Month, Lunar New Year, and Harvest Festival. These gatherings feature food, music, and storytelling, reflecting Newham’s rich diversity and encouraging connection with the wider community.
By focusing on meaningful trips and vibrant festivals, our project promotes wellbeing, strengthens social bonds, and celebrates the cultural richness of Manor Park.
We hope to gain your vote to deliver this project for our men of Manor Park.
