Managing traffic on Little Ilford Lane
From "Little Ilford"
Go to the project

What: Commission a traffic and parking study to investigate feasible ways to manage traffic on Little Ilford Lane, avoid congestion, and prioritise pedestrians and cyclists. The study should consider:
- Traffic calming interventions, including speed bumps and lowering speed limits from 30 mph to 20 mph.
- Reduce the incoming traffic from the A406 and the Browning Bridge closure, to help improve local air quality.
- Improve pedestrian crossing along Little Ilford Lane.

Some thought should be given to traffic ignoring the one way system in Sheringham Avenue, as it is currently being abused by traffic going the wrong way, especially in the centre section. Also cars frequently come out into Dersingham Avenue as a shotcut from the estate into the Romford Road.
