Description
My name is Audra and I live in Stratford. Girls drop out of sport due to a lack of confidence amongst boys as their bodies change. We would love to run our own youth-led project delivered by young females to empower other young females. The project is called Lioness Leaders which aims to engage girls aged 12–16 in Stratford through learning about what women have achieved in football, through developing new skills with professional coaches; developing wellbeing and mentoring skills; understanding healthy living through creating smoothies and healthy snacks and creative filmmaking to share their experiences. The project offers a safe, inclusive space where young participants can build confidence, learn new skills and challenge gender stereotypes in football.
By combining physical activity, mental health support and creative media, Lioness Leaders will help girls and young females to become stronger, more confident and more connected to their community. This in turn will make Stratford a more inclusive and inspiring place to live. Our project will be supported by London Stadium Learning, an education provision in the London Stadium an iconic inspirational location. A space that belongs to them.
