The Artistic Youth Council

The Artistic Youth Council aims to integrate young people into the local community and provide youth leadership experiences for young people – enabling them to access opportunities to enhance their ability to find employment. 

The results of the project are: 

1. Young people gain the skills and knowledge to better equip them for work in the community. 

2. We hope to positively contribute to the gradual reduction in the NEET statistics for Newham as a result of young people gaining valuable skills and experience. 

3. Participants are more employable, having experienced a professional working environment, working on projects and have access to referees, all which can be included on their CV's. 

4. Young people integrated into the community and connecting with community partners, other organisations, and other young people. 

5. Young people finding their place in our community. 

In addition, participants will benefit from: 

*Tailored 1:1 quality mentoring.  

*Mental Health and wellbeing support.  

*Careers guidance.  

*Support to obtain qualifications in Maths, English, Digital Skills or Customer Service.  

*Employability support.

Each member will receive shopping vouchers as an incentive. This is to compensate the young people for the time they give to supporting their peers and their community.
