Description
Links Studios offers a unique environment for young people to explore their creativity and passion for music and media. Our state-of-the-art music facility enables voices to be heard, giving young people the opportunity to channel their curiosity, passion and energy, through creative activities designed to assist the development of their personal and creative abilities, whilst developing important social and life skills in a supportive, safe space.
Our delivery is very collaborative. We believe in empowering young people, enabling them to access opportunities and support they may not have otherwise been able to access, we have a strong focus on supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing linking in with Newham CAMHS.
Our Studio programme :
1) Music production - Exploring the world of music technology tailored to young people’s experience levels; 1:1 or group based
2) Song writing - For both those who want to increase their ability to write songs, explore different genres or those who have never written before.
3) Recording sessions – Capturing the essence of a real-life studio, recording vocals and instrumentals.
4) Band Rehearsal & Live Jamming - A space to explore and learn how to use live instruments and create music via solo and group jamming.
5) Podcasting – For both experienced podcasters and young people with little to no experience.
Alongside our creative and music programme's young people will benefit from:
*Tailored 1:1 quality personal and creative mentoring
*Careers guidance within and outside of the creative industries
*Employability upskilling providing soft skills including CV writing and interview technique workshops.
*Qualifications in Maths, English, Music Technology or Customer Service.
*Mental Health and wellbeing support
Young people will be supported by staff who are leaders in their fields with years of youth work experience:
*Lead Music Tutor has a degree in Creative Music Production
*Youth Development Coordinator is a music professional, specialising in supporting the hardest to reach young people & leads our pastoral development interventions
* Youth Programme Manager delivers a psychologically informed peer-to-peer mentoring programme in schools & is Level 3 trained Safeguarding Lead.
