Our project addresses priority number 3: the environment, parks and green spaces. Our project will look to improve local green spaces through planting a mix of flowering plants, wildflowers, herbs and shrubs for the community to enjoy and these green spaces will be created as natural habitats for wildlife. Rather than perfectly manicured, these green spaces will use the existing structure within the current environment but add colour and visual interest. We believe that changing the look of an area in this way will improve residents mental health and encourage community cohesion. We will use the current green spaces in front of the flats in Cundy rd making plantable beds as they have been done in front of Berwick Road. We will plant in front of the flats in Berwick Road where earth has already been turned over. We will include a number of free standing flower beds near the trees in Cundy Road & Berwick Road and plant wildflowers in the green area in front of Cundy Park. We will also buy gardening equipment and a small lockable shed for the community to use.
