Thank you for your comment. As part of the scheme we aim to create a stepped cycle track for the entire length of Romford Road. Phase 1 (under construction) is implementing a stepped cycle track between Water Lane and Radlett Close, and between Woodgrange Road and Richmond Road respectively. Phase 2 will implement a stepped cycle track between approx. Sixth Avenue and Dersingham Avenue. The next phases aim to implement stepped cycle tracks along remaining sections along Romford Road. Redbridge Council is also planning cycle segregated tracks from Lugg Approach towards Ilford.
Improve cycle facilities

Whilst NONE of the Romford Road is pleasant to cycle down, most of it can be avoided by alternative back street routes. This section is very difficult to avoid without adding substantial distance and it's really unpleasant. There is a random & absolutely useless section of cycle track on the pavement, but as well as being impractical, it's frequently blocked. A decent & safe cycle track connecting to Ilford would encourage more people to use active travel for this short journey, rather than getting in their cars.
