Hamara Ghar - Community Kitchen

Our project is about bringing residents in Hamara Ghar and the surrounding community together by renovating the existing kitchen facilities that can then be used by residents and outside organisations for the purpose of providing cooking facilities for various events to improve community cohesion, health, wellbeing and happiness.

May 2024 update:

The project for the Hamara Ghar kitchen has been delayed whilst we await confirmation of the contractors and implementation plans for the wider Hamara Ghar modernisation works. Once these are signed off then the works will then commence on the kitchen refurbishment which is hope will be during the summer months. The works are expected to take less than a month once started. We look forward to making progress with this in order to bring a wider range of activities to the building to take advantage of the new facilities.

November 2024 update:

• The works have begun and the Hamara Ghar communal kitchen has been cleared of the older items.

• New items have started to arrive including a cooker, fridge, dishwasher and sink.

• Residents are excited to see that it is all starting to come together and hopeful that a Christmas Party using it may be possible.
